  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, red onion, bell pepper, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into four patties.
  4. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  6. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, turkey patty, and avocado slices.
